'I am young but I am learning new things. Recently I used the internet to find about the prevalent wrong practices in Nepal. So many things came up and it will take me some time to understand all of it.

But at home I can identify these wrongs and speak about it. To make a point I listen carefully. I have also listened to my cousin sister's story. I truly felt bad for her parents. It also left me feeling bitter about the society we live in. A lot of questions came to my mind. How did these poor farmers feel when they sold their land for her? How did she feel knowing the price her parents had to pay? These questions are difficult to answer but I know one thing for certain.

When you marry it should not be and about money. It should not be about expensive processions. It should simply celebrate human bond. When I find a partner with whom I want to share my life with I will not demand dowry from her parents, nor will I let my parents coerce me into such actions. And every time, I see people defend such systems, I will speak."

"I want simple things. I do not want much. I just want to complete my school, attend college and university and when I have a degree find a job. And when I do that, I will be able to provide for my family, my father and mother who've struggled for me. But I cannot be certain this is going to happen. It is easy for big people to achieve big things but it is difficult for simple people to achieve simple things. So let us see."
