This book is an outcome of the four months-long study into the state of journalism curricula of the universities of Nepal. The overall objective of the study was to analyze existing curricula of all three universities by comparing them with the indicators developed by UNESCO. The study reveals that the curricula of all three universities were found to be more theory oriented with minimal practical applications, with majority of text books and resource materials were found to be available in English. Very few books and materials authored by Nepali writers have been published. Issues concerning gender and social inclusion are covered in the curricula. Gender equity and gender mainstreaming have been incorporated in the Master's level curricula. However, at the institutional level, very little efforts have been made to ensure equal gender participation.
