Youth and The United Nations in Nepal

In 2008 the UN Country Team (UNCT) set up the United Nations Youth Advisory Panel (UNYAP). The UNYAP is a part of the UNCT’s commitment to young people’s empowerment and rights in accordance with basic human rights principles. The purpose of the UN Youth Advisory Panel is to serve as a platform for dialogue and information sharing between young people in Nepal and the UN Country Team.

Source/Methodolgy: Desk review of relevant documents and web based resources. Meeting with the United Nations Youth Focal Points (UNYFPs) of the thirteen UN agencies that have appointed UNYFPs. Consultation in Kathmandu with various youth organisations in the workshop ‘Together we can…Exploring areas of collective action’ organized by the UNYAP, UNICEF and YUWA.
