As a follow up of the 2nd High Level Consultation (HLC) Meeting which was conducted last December, we are moving with implementing key resolutions of the HLC in collaboration with National Planning Commission (NPC) of Nepal.
As a first step, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is coordinating a high level policy dialogue between Kathmandu Migration Group (KMG*) and NPC on Sunday, 22nd of February at the Conference Hall of the Office of the Vice Chairperson, NPC in Kathmandu.
Chaired by the Vice Chairperson of NPC, Prof. Govinda Raj Pokharel where senior officials of key ministries was also taking part, this policy dialogue focus on resolution number 1- Set up an inter-ministerial mechanism (task force) to enable us to mainstream migration into sectoral policies, under the leadership of the National Planning Commission and number 2 - Develop a migration for development strategy that will directly feed into the national development planning.
