The Sphere handbook is a relevant and ‘living’ document for emergency response that has improved the accountability of humanitarian agencies in recent years. In order to maintain the relevance and usefulness in disaster response, Sphere needs to keep abreast of changing practices in widely varied contexts in humanitarian work, as well as latest technical innovations.
