Building an expanded response to HIV/AIDSFuture Management Model

This study was undertaken by a human resources consulting firm at the request of UNAIDS. After discussion/consultation with key stakeholders and study of various structures and organizations in HIV/AIDS management in Nepal, the report makes some key recommendations for change including reforming and restructuring different government bodies that overlook the HIV/AIDS currently. It describes key features of the recommended model of future management mechanism for an expanded response to HIV/AIDS in Nepal. The new model recommends a leadership organization called Nepal AIDS Council to provide leadership and accountability and overlook the rest of the structures. The main governing body immediately under the Council is Nepal AIDS Programme Governing Board that overlooks other three structural aspects: technical, management and financial and consequently the partner agencies in each.
