1.8 million individuals have been assisted through the provision of emergency shelter assistance, technical shelter support to build back safer, camp coordination and camp management, debris removal, income support and protection activities as well as provision of health and psychosocial services for affected population.

As way forward, while it is important to look ahead and plan for the full reconstruction phase, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) believes it is also extremely vital to address the remaining stringent needs of the affected population to reduce the risks and the likelihood of more permanent consequences that can surge as a result of unequal access to assistance and relief, and unsafe or involuntary returns to place of origin.
